I am looking for a home for Shiloh a rescued pit that I have had for about 4 months now.. I rescued her from a negligent owner who refused to seek medical care for her demidectic mange ( not transferrible to other dogs ). I have worked with my local vet and completed her treatments and also have had her spayed .. I am not asking a fee for her would just like to find her a loving home .. She is roughly a year old, great with kids ( can be a lil hyper at first but calms down quickly) is good with my sisters dogs and loves my chickens ( I think she finds them fascinating.. I would be willing to travel up to an hour away to deliver her or meet.

I can't take another dog. But I wanted to talk about the mange. We also rescued a dog found at the park covered in this horrible mange. She looked so horrible. The mange cleared up beautifully with loving care and my other dogs did NOT become infected. I just wanted to help out with this point

Demodex mange is not transferable to other dogs. Dogs that have low immune systems or poor nutritional care have trouble finghting of any infestations of something that is commonly found on most dogs. Demodex has to be managed and clears up nicely in most pets, although scaring in sever cases is possible.

Sarcoptic mange IS transferable to other dogs.

I think "scrambledmess" was just trying to help you prove your point in case others questioned it.

Good Luck finding a home for your pup,

I think she's adorable, with that black nose and lips!

I'm wondering if you have asked any of your local pit bull rescues about doing a courtesy listing for you? Have you listed her on Pit Bull Rescue Central?

I do not know what you used for the demodex, but what we have had great success with is Promeris.

Come on somebody . I go to look at an apartment on Thurs amnd can't take her with me.. I don't want to see her go to the pound..
