UPDATE - Hatch is done, total of 12 chicks! Added pics!

I haven't done much at all, I have just widened the original pip up a little bit so they can get more air and it seems that a couple of them were having a tough time getting through the shell.

just dont open to much as the membrane will dry out and stick to the chick, and that is a whole new problem.. cuase serama's don't do baths well, when a day old.. believe me i have learned from several mistakes i have made.

i will wait now till they dry in the incubator from hatching, then wash with damp warm cloth to remove the membrane, then i place them in the brooder under the heat lamp with the other chicks, doing this i have not lost one... trying to hatch them to early i have lost several.

thanks for the kind words cherndon712

and good luck corey

3 more have harched, 2 are like the first black on the back and white on the cest and wing tips 1 of the most recent ones looks white or buff.

1 died, I was worried because I couldn't feel it attempting to pip so I pip for it and had died. It never piped internally but looked fully formed so who knows. When that one hide died I decided that I should pip the others to make certain I don't lose any of the others. Sadly I was too late for another one it looked like it had pipped internally but couldn't make it through the shell.

I pipped the last 4 remaining un-pipped eggs one pipped fine, one I hit blood so I left it alone, another one was dead been dead for a while by the looks of the dried membrane, the last one is also dead it wasn't fully formed so there is no wat it would have hatched. Only time will tell but I'll know I did my best to try and save these little guys.

4 have hatched, 8 have pipped and are soon to hatch.

I got a little sleep and when I woke up 9 have hatched. There are three pipped left I help each one out a bit and got blood so they will just have to wait a little longer.

It looks like we'll have tweleve little serama chicks, do you think my broody will be fine with that? Will she be able to cover them all and keep them warm with out smothering them? She is a very broody silkie cross do you think I can give them to her all at once or a couple here and there?
