Sometimes when you just put a chick in front of a broody they wont except it and peck it to death, So I would take a chick and put in one and see what happens and if she doesnt except it, I would wait and try again later.

She took the chick like a pro, I added 6 others and she didn't bat an eye. They sunggled up under her like they knew that is exactly what they're suppose to do.

I've left 2 that aren't as dry as the others in the bator to be moral support for the ones in the eggs.

I would not put them in with her till dark. I have put them in the nest under the hen after dark and they have excepted them. Maybe try one or two but don't put in till dark. Then check early on them the next morning.

She is actually in the basement and I keep the lights off so it is as dark as night other than the dim light from the other brooder. She's doing really well for a first time momma.
