Back story: I got a bunch of mini incubators off of a local fb site for $15 each... I didn't realize just HOW cheap they were until after I'd already paid... We had an abundance of fertile eggs, so I figured I might as well give it a shot anyways... I did a ton of research, and the very best that I could... I really didn't hold out much hope, but they surprised me every time I candled - they've been right on track. I'm on day 20 now, and we got an external pip overnight...
So my question is, has ANYONE actually had a successful hatch in one of this mini junkers?! I know you're usually supposed to leave them in the Bator until they're dry, but I can't imagine that being an option here?! There's really not going to be room?! I've got a brooder set up, right by my 6 week old EEs so that IF anyone hatches, they won't be alone... But will moving them that quickly after hatch be a death sentence after making it this far?!

It should be fine moving them right away as long as one side of your brooder is 95 degrees and they can get away from the heat. I always fluff mine up with a soft toothbrush if I'm in a hurry to get them dry.

Thank you so much! That helps a lot. Seriously, I'm more anxious about this than I was about delivering my 5 kiddos!!! I wish I could hear them peeping!

Lol! It's so exciting and stressful! Glad I could help. Good luck with your chicks! I've never used those incubarlrs, but someone I know hatched 6 out of 7 in one. There's still hope! Fingers crossed!

S/he did it!! Tough little things, these chicklets!!! I wasn't watching my camera for like the first time all day, but suddenly hears some crazy loud chirping coming from downstairs!! I had to take him/her out of the incubator right away, because there was absolutely NO room, and it was going to get hurt. But s/he did come completely out of the egg on her own... However, there's some blood still left on the inside of the egg? Is that okay? I can post a picture if needed. So far he seems okay, chirping up a storm and getting fluffier already.
