I am SOOOO excited!!!! Thank you everyone for the encouragement!

I had the thermometers right on the egg turner next to the eggs, then read something that said they are supposed to be on TOP of the eggs. Well, I moved them and found that the temp is a good 2 degrees higher that way. I wonder if I've actually had the temp at 102 all this time if, in fact, that's where the true temp is? Do my eggs have a chance?

I take it this is in a still air incubator? You didn't say what the temp actually was, at which points. If you have a still air, and the temp is 102F at the egg tops, that's perfect. If it's a forced air, (with a fan installed and running) 102 is too high. They may have a chance anyway, what day are you on?

The reason for this is that without the fan, the heat rises, so there are layers, or zones, at different temps. The bottom will be cooler than the top.

It's not a still air. I believe I've been running 2 degrees higher than I thought I was, all along. My hatch date is any time after 9:00 p.m. this coming Wednesday. So, I thought I was running between 99 and 100.5 or so when in reality it was likely 2 degrees higher than that the whole time (until yesterday) since I didn't have the thermometers on top of the eggs.

Thank you so much for your feedback!

They might be just fine, anyway. I keep my thermometer on the turner, on top of the egg cups. But I have the old kind of LG turner cups, the plastic legs that stick up. The thermometer probably sits higher on that, than it would on the new kind of turner cups. It sits near the top of the eggs, but probably closer to about where the air cells are (depending on the size of the egg) by hatch time. I get good hatches with it reading 99.5-100.5F.

I have a fan as well, I know there is still some variation in temp at different heights, but not as much as a still air.

Let me know how it turns out, I'll be watching to see what happens. Best of luck, I hope you have an amazingly good hatch! How many are there?

So, if I understand you right, your eggs are talking to you, right? Cool, I'm so glad they're ok!

Please, add your updates in another post at the end, instead of editing the original post. That can get confusing!

Plus, adding a new post bumps the thread back up, instead of it getting lost way down the list. Then those of us looking for it to see what happened, don't have to look through 6 or 7 pages to find the updates.

And I know I'm not the only person waiting to see how many hatch!
