What do mites look like? Not sure how to check for them. We are fairly new to this.

Not sure what the bumps are from, does this happen during molting?

I would bring her inside, like momhennie says. Her rear looks possibly like she might have a laying issue--has she laid any eggs recently? Looks like there might be a bit of yellow near her vent, like egg yolk? So I would put her in a dark, quiet spot to stop the laying process till she gets better. It wouldn't hurt to give her a nice, warm bath and blow dry her, and she would probably like it. Looks like you've taken a good look at her skin, so you would see any obvious mice or lice, though it is possible she could have something like depluming mites--I'll have to see if I can find a pic (does she pull on her own feathers?). Has she been wormed with a systemic (e.g. ivermectin) anytime recently? Does she have any unusual swellings underneath or near her vent?

Molting can be stressful for some hens. It can drain energy and make them feel tired. Give them a little extra protein to give them a boost and maybe get some Nutri-Drench for them to put in their water.

Here is a closer picture of her vent. I know it's gross, but I just want her to get better. It looks red and irritated to me. She has been laying in the nesting box now. I wonder if she is feeling so poorly that she cannot jump to the roost?

if the chicken is sick she won't pass anything on to you (noting that you're pregnant)... I worked at a vet clinic for 6 years and it is very very rare for any illness to transfer human / animals and vice versa. You have to be more careful with anything that you may choose to treat her with...

Please bring her inside, keep her in the dark, give her 1/2 tums crushed in plain yogurt, and give her a warm bath (could help her pass an egg). Sure looks and sounds like she could be egg bound/ egg yolk peritonitis. Have you felt around her vent? I would check inside her also. Here are some links...
