UPDATE incubator questions p.5 : Crossing all my fingers!

The others will actually pick at that membrane until it comes off. Otherwise, do like Needmorechickens said and dampen a Q-tip with warm water and gentle wet/rub it until it can be removed. It won't hurt it to leave it on, unless it's causing problems.

They are so sweet!!! I have eggs from Jody in my bator right now. I hope I get a good hatch, I want some of those Buff's so bad!!

I agree with AK and locked hearts.
I think it should be based on instinct when to help.

Sorry if you said before, but how many have hatched out of what you set so far?
Good luck with your new babies=)

The late hatch from a low temp. maybe just a degree. Place water pans in your incubator room. If you use AC remember it remove humidity. Dont forget after adding the fan, keep temp. at 99.5

It looks like you have an LG. I have the same humidity problems with mine, no matter what I do, but I also live in a very dry area. Congrats on your babies and good luck with your next batch!

What do you do about the humidity? Just go with it at 45%? I'm assuming that the one chick had membrane stuck to it because it was too dry in there.

The last chick to hatch didn't make it through the night.

Just like the first one, it couldn't get its feet underneath it. I wonder if it just got worn out trying to hatch for SO long.

I have two hatchling's from Jody's stock, and one of my own. Here's hoping they're ALL GIRLS.
