UPDATE incubator questions p.5 : Crossing all my fingers!

Those units only measure the humidity at the base, not the probe, learned that the hard way. That is why you see the whole unit inside. The probe only measures temp. I drowned almost a whole batch because I thought my humidity wasn't high enough, my unit said humidity was in the 40's but I had water dripping down my window, stupid mistake on my part

. Those units work great if you put the whole thing in, but between hatches you should take the batteries out and let it dry out since the humidity is so high. Try putting it in and you will see.............

Oh, and you should have more ventilation during hatching than incubation. I actually prefer a still air for hatching, or a low power fan because it is easier to maintain humidity, IMO. You will eventually figure out what works best for you in your environment

Uh oh... yes, the unit measures the humidity... that's why it didn't register any increases. :aww The probe goes in the water wiggler, and the base measures the air temp/humidity in the incubator.
I use an indoor/outdoor thermometer/hygrometer, and the probe ("outside") reads what the inside of the egg would be in the wiggler. The "indoor" temp is the air in the incubator.
