Update on Dun/Khaki/Platinum Sumatra project

I used a dun Roo over both a light dun hen and a normal blue splash hen..The platinum or whatever we call it has a much different color, you can see both light blue and tan tones at the same time..

You know about the theory of mixing blue and red to a dunlike color?
In dutch sultan that seemed to be the case. I never noticed any such effect. And what can be mixed could also be unmixed.
Did you ever cross such a splash bird with a (solid) black?

That cockerel is stunning! I

his color! I must say, I agree with you about the khaki coloring. It instantly catches the eye.

I havent heard about mixing blue and red to make a dun color and didnt really think it was possible. We never kept any of the offspring so we didnt mate them with a black. That is why I am wondering, lol.

I would really like to see a blue, a dun and a platinum all side by side in one photo to see the differences in hue without having to consider lighting or camera or computer settings. Henk, as always, your birds are lovely!
