Update! on eggs in the bator

Hey, good luck with all the new babies and waiting babies.

I'm like BeckyLa, I don't post a lot or mainly just to welcome someone. It has been stressful to many this week on the board. Don't take things personal.

Congrats on the hatch!

Make sure you don't overdo it with all the hatching excitement. I know I've been to my bator over 100 times in the past couple of days - you be careful & take care of yourself. But ENJOY all you can!!!

I think the first hatch I did, I was up for three days straight because they started hatching a day early and one or two hatched a day late. I got so dizzy from no sleep or food that I had to go to bed for an afternoon after it was over, LOL.

THe black chick that was bleeding at the navel is perking up. It's till strange because the mother is a white Leghorn and thought the dad was white leghorn.

I am so excited because there are 2 silkie eggs pipping quite a bit one is marked gray and the other looks black is from JJ so it's either black or white. I hope I get a good hatch on the silkies!!!

I can't sleep for very long because my knee hurts where ever I am!! I thought I had slept a long time last night and it had only been 30 minutes.

Poision Oak, Eureka Springs is really pretty isn't it? We love going there.

Motherhen and Becky I guess when there shows 70 has read your post and 800+++ has read 4-H mother's post it's irritating. I guess I'm not part of the "family" or Drama"

Hey Jackie, Where are you in Central Ar? I am in SW Mo, about 10 miles from Hwy 71 (I540).

I haven't gotten set up to hatch chicks yet, purchased a bator from someone on the site, got burned on that transaction. My bro. is going to make me a bator and I can hardly wait to try it out.

I don't have any experience to help you out with, but, do hope you have a great hatch

Do be careful with that knee, hope you are up and around soon.

Thunder, I might be checking your desk coop closer because I'm getting out of hand on babies.

Chick, I live just south of Little Rock off of I30. Have you tried Farmers Coop or Tractor Supplies for bator.

I love to hatch chicks.

Hey Jackie, Yes I have been checking out those bators, cheapest I have found them is my own local feed store, just waiting for someone to buy it for me, lol. My hens aren't old enough to start laying yet, so I figure I can wait a bit. I am afraid it could become an addicting habit. When we were building the coop, I failed to tell that I had an additional 12 chicks in my tub,

I got a look and then they looked at the coop and said this isn't big enough

I just need to be patience a little longer

. Nice talking with you and looking forward to seeing how your hatch goes.

As of now I have 1 silkie (not sure of the color)!!! 7 RIR, 1 White Leghorn, and 1 black chick (which was suppose to be a White Leghorn of whom I picked the egg myself) I still have several pipping. So far 10 baby chicks.

Speckled hen it's amazing how well you can get around on crutches when it comes to babies hatching. My girls are as excited as I am.

Chick rules, when school employees are paid very well I will buy you a bator.

Well, I'm gone to try to get some sleep.

Good luck with your chicks.I would offer you some advice but as of right now I just started to try and incubate my first eggs. I have 21 in there right now and it will be day three around 7 tonight. Becareful on your knee. I am an x-ray tech and let me tell you people fall a lot when they are on crutches so be extra careful as you have babies to take care of now.
