OK everone, I was reading it must be baby time..It has been almost a month since I took those pics of Annabelle. So lets me tell you what has been going on and what is CURRENTLY going on since my oberservations on her about 5 minutes ago....Goat experts tell me what yall think..I have helped birth about 12 baby horses in the past two yrs but this is the my first baby goats since I was a kid..
1st- for the past couple days her stools have not been as solid as usual and sometimes clumping together a little bit.
2nd- She has not been looking as huge like the baby (ies) have moved down to birth Canal
3rd- Her UDDER is tight and HUGE!
4th- She still has a little bit of mucas seeping out her vulva but not a big long stream or anything.
AS OF THIS MORNING:
She is normally the first one at the feed trough pushing everyone else away and she did no show that much interest in the food at all.
Normally I let them all out of their pen in the morning after feeding to free range in my fenced yard til dark when I feed them and put them up for the night. None of them ever really spend to much time hanging out in their pen during the day unless they are eating leftovers from breakfast.
About 15 minutes ago I had this feeling that I needed go check on Annabelle. I went outside and found her in her pen under the milk stand shed pawing and digging in the dirt. She kept acting like she was going to sqat and pee but did not pee just sort of squatted and looked like she was heaving her stomache (Pushing?)
I went and sat down next to her and she moved over to the sleeping shed where there is alot of hay and bedding and started pawing around in that. She finally stiffly kneeled down in the hay and her breathing is sort of labored, like panting.
WHAT NOW!!! I closed the door on the pen so she would stay in there so I can keep a good eye on her. I can tell I will be making plenty of trips out there today...I know this could take a day or two or a week, but she honestly is showing what seems to me as labor acts.
