update on my roo with broken beak

well the deed couldn't be done. me and my hubby have decided to wait and see what happens.. he wouldn't eat or drink the first night. the second day he tried to eat but the scrambled egg fell out of his beak that morning.. but by evening he was eating and drinking just fine.. i could see he was sore but at least he was trying.. we kept him inside for 3 days and he was so antsy to get back to his girls that we put him outside to free range with them.. he picked a little grass and kept his girls company all day.. he has been in the coop with them and seems to be eating and drinking and doing fine.. i am so glad we waited.. i am not sure he can still do the deed.. with out holding on. but the girls need a break anyway lol....ty for helping all.. linda

Great, glad he is doing better. Just like our busted toenails.......... that's gotta hurt ! But it toughens as it gets used more. Best Wishes.

Sounds like he going to be fine! awesome job. I dont think i could kill one of my pet roosters if i thought they were going to be okay either.

I have a "debeaked" hen, I just make sure the water and feed are deep enough. She does great.
