Update on my two ee's.

As for chick #2, those who guessed, you were right, he’s a boy. A sweet one though.

And for now on, he’ll be known as Marco.

They are so pretty! The ratio of hens/roos is supposed to always be a certain number (many swear by it,) but I have kept a subordinate rooster with only 10 hens and never had any issue. Might just keep an eye on him/them to see which one is dominant. Often, the dominant male will not allow the other rooster to mate and there is no bloodshed. I've got 6 hens currently with 2 roosters (in this case, I'm rehoming both of my roosters even though I love them - - they just aren't the quality I want for breeding). The alpha rooster - White Knight has attempted early courtship with the ladies and they aren't having it. Featherfoot has not tried. Wasn't sure if you were rehoming due to the hen/rooster ratio. Sometimes it can work well, depending on the rooster(s)/hens and how they're kept. :)

Marco is dominant over Polo, although it used to be the other way around but Polo got injured and that ruined his ranking. We have over 40 hens and about 8 roosters so a little under but 2 of our roosters are immature at the moment. We may rehome those two when they get older, not sure yet. Also, in Marco n Polo's case they usually try to team up and grab up a hen together, feel bad for hen when that happens.
