My mystery black chicks have gotten big!

We are still speculating breed. Some people have said EE and RIR cross, which could explain the small waddles and combs? Others say sex links, and now we are wondering if they are Black Copper Marans or crosses to make olive eggers? They are almost 20 weeks old, but seem to be maturing VERY slowly. They are 100% free range in a wooded area, so maybe it's their low-carb diet?

Biggest one and I mean heavy. Small red comb and waddles. Tail has two long curly feathers and other feathers are pointed with small "streamers". No sign of thin hackle or saddle feathers. Black feathers have metallic green/blue sheen and some copper red coming in on chest. This one is a ham.

Very light build and V-shaped. Tiny almost nonexistent black comb and pink waddles. Round feathers. Black feathers shine purple in the sun and lots of copper red on neck and chest. Will not sit still. She bites my freckles off. I'm literally missing chunks of flesh from this bird.

Very light build and V-shaped. Tiny black comb and tiny waddles. Round feathers. Black feathers shine blue-green and purple in the sun and lots of copper red on neck and chest. Very colorful. I wish she would gain some weight, but I'm thinking it's just her body type.

Pretty little hatchery mutts. I was hoping we would see eggs soon, but not so sure with this bunch of jokers. I'm hoping egg color will help reveal their lineage.

Very beautiful whatever their breed is. They look like black star sex link to me but I am still new to learning the different breeds. I have 5 of them that look like yours that I hatched from my hens so probably not the same. We mostly raise New Hampshire, RIR, Leghorns, EE's, and Bantams. I just got 5 new silkies babies. Wish you luck in finding out their breed.
