Shelly, make sure the little one takes some water and if you have Vitamins and Electrolytes use a little in the water. If not put a little sugar in the water for an extra boost. I will answer your other questions by PM

Wow... I've been watching constantly and its crazy how they turn out. I hope he's ok and has strengthened up! I'll be back to check up again soon. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Well, I've got the little guy set up in his own little "bachelor brooder". He seems to be gaining strength, and has no problems with his vocals!

I'm going to keep a close watch on him for the rest of the day and tonight. I just added a little sugar to his water, and I've been making him drink periodically since he hatched. Here's a few pics of the little guy. He's more of a gray color actually, but these pics make him look black.

Well, my little guy is attempting to run around a bit now, and is drinking water on his own. He's very small, of course, so I took my rolling pin and crushed up his starter crumbles for him. I haven't seen him eat anything yet, but hopefully that will happen next. I'm probably going to keep updating this thread for a little while longer, since this little guy is still not "out of the woods" yet.

Yesterday was a very scary day in my home. The little chick was not looking well at all. He was drinking on his own, but did not eat (at least I never saw him) all day. He was very, very "sleepy", and lied around all day. I honestly did not think he was going to make it.

But then last night, suddenly, he just started grubbing out on his own! It was like a little light switch turned on, and he started eating like there was no tomorrow! His posture improved, his stamina improved, EVERYTHING just made a 180 degree turn around.

This morning, he's very well too. As he was showing these rapid signs of improvement, he became quite playful.

Occasionally, he would get a spark of energy and run around the brooder testing his legs. Therefore, I have named him Sparky, also due to the fact that his improvement resembles that of newly installed spark plug!

Thanks for everyone's support and encouragement, and I'll be posting pics later.

P.S.
I did remove the sugar water late last night...didn't think that he should have it for more than a couple of days.
