*~*UPDATE PICS*~* 3/15/09 chicks and my duckling

Just lift the lid stick your hand in there and roll them. The hens aren't nearly as picky as we humans are. You will be fine.

i know the water would be pushed around but ig i have to have the bator open to turn 52 eggs then the temp and umidity is going t drop so dramaticaly and as you can see i have my eggs n there so close together the rolling with be at a minimum but the eggs will still be moved and th 2 eggs in the back i can move those by had from side to side, also i was going to do the egg carton thing but sice i had so many eggs they wouldnt all fit i tried it i had one of the big 30 egg holders and it took up almost all the room, i would still need 2 more 12 egg holder cartons in there there was no way

Well, think about it this way... A hen gets off her nest to eat, drink, poop for up to 30 mins per day.... So if you can roll the eggs 3x times a day in under 30 mins you should be fine.... I would really be worried about the eggs smashing in to each other and breaking/cracking !!

ETA - You could make room at the end of each line off eggs so if you roll the first egg they all kind of turn, know what I mean ??

Wouldn't you have to be careful of the water running out of water wells..maybe coming through the bottom vent holes too..I tried the tilting and had water outside the bator..
