Update: (post #27) Hen might be dying right now please help.

I hope they get better too.

I just brought her in and did a thorough chech for the bugs but her skin is clean vent is clean and I don't see any bugs....

I would also check for moldy feed. Sometimes it builds up in a certain area that may not be noticeable to us, but chickens get into everything! Sometimes you have to really dig around. If you are not going through a lot of feed, take your feed and dump it in a container and look through it, sometimes feed can get moldy when sitting on shelves in damp areas and it may only show at the bottom of the bag.

I don't put a lot of feed in there feeder for that reason and I just refilled and just bought new feed so it is fresh. I store it in a metal garbage can in the coop.

I think I may worm tomorrow. Her poopies looked a little wierd with yellow in it instead of just the white and green. When I brought her in I gave her a little taste of cottage cheese to see if she would take it and she did but slowly. I hope it is not a crop issue since I have had to deal with that before.

Right now she is standing by the water dish every once in awhile taking a drink. She is also muching on some oyster shell (for some reason she eats that the most of all the other chickens.)

Never herd of it, but if it worked well last time then hope it will again. If I have a very weak bird I try to use less harsh wormers until they get back some strength, as some can push them over the edge.
Best wishes

I wish I had an answer for you! I don't, but I'm sending good thoughts your way.

were the hens very close? (big momma and the sick one now, that is) with a flock of only four, the one who is sick may be going into shock after losing a close friend and family member.
