Update: sad :( HELP!!!! What do I do with my pregnant Rabbit?? (pics)

Just a note, but rats can and will breed through cage wire, and I think rabbits can too. Good luck on the litter!

I think they have to find some pretty creative positions to get the job done through the wire, but I have heard that also. I keep space between cages, and if they are in a jointed hutch, it is hardware cloth between.

Yes they can breed through the wire and I may or may not have a pregnant doe. I caught her up on the step stool and my buck was going CRAZY!!! I guess I will find out one way or another.

Hi

Anyway my doe has been out the last few days and recently I found a big hole travleing under a doghouse that creates one of the main walls of the enclosure

It's not super deep ...she could barely sit in it...but I'm wondering if this is a sign of nesting or what??? I really don't want to lock her up so soon...

For now I have filled it back in and covered it with a piece of wood???

Oh, YES! It sure is. Keep that girl in her hutch! If it is the required minimum size for Flemish, she will be perfectly fine. If you really want her to get some exercise during her pregnancy, let her run indoors in your house.

So............ We're about 6 days from day 28!!

Not 100% sure she's pregnant? she isn't making a nest yet but I know it's still early..... I let her out during supervision ( she has been digging a hole ) and watched her hop around..... she didn't look any bigger.

Although when I picked her up to put her back she felt super heavy

I fail at trying to feel for anything

I weighed her 1 or 2 weeks ago and was planning to again today.........

Wondering if there would be a drastic change in weight and if this means she is more likely to be pregnant or she's just getting fat cause I'm keeping her in her cage 24/7 now?

All bunnies are different when it comes to nesting. My doe didn't make her nest or start pulling fur until she was in labor. Went to bed with a clean cage and woke up to her being bald and 9 babies.
