They all seem to be doing well with a couple of exceptions!
The polish chicks seem to be having the hardest time and it looks like they might have been pecked at in transit because they are a little smaller. They have a little spot of red right at the top of their beaks that might be blood. They keep laying down and looking very sleepy, Do chicks sleep during the day? Should I let them sleep or keep picking them up and putting their beaks in the water like I have been doing? I had electrolytes in the water but wasn't sure if I mixed it right so I dumped it and replaced it with sugar water. I think I made the right call there. They seem warm enough they are all spread out and mostly happy. What should I do with the ones who seem sleepy?
Update
Well I have one little baby that is not doing so well and I don't think it will make it. I cleaned its vent because it looked pasty and it peed but no poop. It was swolen and very sore looking, I tried the vasaline with no change. Then I tried the preparation H and it seemed to feel better. It drank six long drinks and it has been sleeping standing up for a long time. Well I just applied another dose of Preparation H after coming home to find it oozing white gunk. It is laying down with the other chics. I think it is because they got into the pine shaving bedding and were eating it and the chick is just constipated. We will see if she recovers. Any advice?
