UPDATE****Some type of illnesses ~ few different symptoms

You can contact the Michigan state vet...his number is on the MDA website. He will tell you what testing is available and where to get it done. Your problem may very well be just a respiratory "cold" that they'll get over with the correct medication, but it's best to be safe...at least getting the test results will ease your mind.

I'm sorry if I sent you into a panic with the info re: ILT. But as I said before, I know of 2 very dishonest people in Michigan who have had the disease in their flocks, never reported it to the state (which is required by law), and sold and continue to sell birds from their infected farms. I just hope you didn't get your birds from one of these 2 people.

I will send an email to the Oceana Co MSU extension office & that way it will be there waiting for them Monday morning. Go from there I guess. I can't stand the waiting & wondering. Already been in a panic! & that is so wrong that people to continue to spread a disease! I am just a small time hobby farmer that enjoys her animals & would never spread any disease to any ones animals! GRRRRR I am so mad!

I raised most of these birds from babies & love them all.

They all seem to be getting better now.

I used the Vet Rx on them the last couple of nights & I do have an email out to the MSU extension so hopefully I can get these guys tested just for peace of mind. I hope I hear from them tomorrow.

None of the others seem to be catching it.....hopefully they won't!

Thank goodness they're doing better! That's great! It probably would be a good idea to have them tested anyway....I don't think you'll get much rest until you know for sure. I'll keep you and your flock in my prayers.

They are not out of the woods yet & I HAVE to get them tested cause I HAVE to know what the problem is. But they are definately not dying! YaY!

Well I called the MSU extension office & they "don't know what to do" I called the vet & they don't know what to do either.....

So I called the vet I used to see & she is going to ask around to find out what can be done. Very frustrating!

But the sick ones seem to be getting better & my OEGB roo actually crowed this morning sounding not to bad. He was sick the worst. Not another has caught a thing.

So that is good news though, they seem much better & it doesn't seem to be spreading. YaY! so far!
