Thanks to all of the folks that responded to my post earlier this week regarding a pullet collapse, weak, and almost lifeless. We have had her isolated in our bathroom, dosing with corid, and managed to force feed some quinoa mixed with a vitamin/protein boost mixture in small quantities.

Aaaand, her strength is returning! Today she has started eating on her own (what we are calling our soupy "chicken Gatorade" quinoa, and feed mixture).

However, she is still not opening her eyes. One is definitely swollen and leaking a white pus, and the other isn't swollen but seems stuck shut. Could it be that the other chooks pecked her eyes? I don't want to stress her too much since she seems to be gaining strength but any tips/ideas are appreciated!

I'm sorry to hear about your pullet.
I pulled information from your other thread as well.

To me, if she were pecked/attacked by the others, this is likely the cause of her weakness.
Having a Crest, she has a Vaulted Skull correct? Pecking of the head can in birds with a vaulted skull can cause internal damage sometimes.

If you can please post some photos of her eyes that may be helpful.

If the eyes are leaking white pus, that needs to be removed. Flush with saline and press out all the pus you can a couple of times a day. Apply Terramycin eye ointment or Vetericyn eye gel to the eyes too. If the one eye seems stuck, then apply a warm compress to see if that helps work it loose.

Getting her hydrated was very good. I would try making a wet soupy mash out of her chick starter to see if you can get that into her. I would also give her 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex once a day. See if you can get some egg into her once a day as well.
Keep pushing fluids.

Let us know how she's getting along.

She is a 15 week old polish pullet who has always been vigorous though the others have managed to peck some of her crest off and around her eye so she is a little bloody but that is the only external wound.
Weakness/general lack of moving/not holding head up and eyes mostly closed
-Quick, shallow breathing
-Seems lighter, crop is empty
-Almost seems like she is choking on her tongue? Keeps opening her mouth like choking, when I turned her upside down and rubbed her throat she did throw up some of the fluid I gave her

Thank you for the welcome! Here is a picture of her eye (it was less goopy/more swollen yesterday but I was able to remove a feather that was stuck in there). It seems pretty obvious that the eye is damaged and I am trying to schedule an appointment with the only local avian vet to see what we can do to...seems like she may be a house chicken now.

However, now one of my ducks is exhibiting similar symptoms: weakness/lethargy, the cough/sneeze. I tried to attach a video but it wouldn't accept the file type. I am worried that whatever caused the Polish's initial weakness that got her picked on is spreading to the rest of the flock. They have been on Corid for a few days now and the duck just started exhibiting symptoms this morning.

Poor thing :hugs

Looks like it's infected. The pus will have to be pressed out, so if vet care is possible, that may be best.

For video, upload to youtube and provide a link, the BYC upload doesn't work at all.
