UPDATE W/ VIDEO:Rooster sleeping with head turned upside down!

I am sorry, just give him antibiotics and hand feed him. I would try putting a real warm wash cloth in a quart bag and putting it up next to his head. Sometimes warm moist packs help.

I started giving him yogart with electrolytes and vitamins with a syringe and it gave him some energy. Last night and this morning he had no interest in letting me feed him. This morning it was like he was fighting me. He would not open his beak. I eventually forced it open and started force feeding the yogart mixer. He wasn't swallowing. It was just pouring out of his mouth. His breast bone is protruding. His quality of life is poor and he's just not snapping out of it. I can no longer watch him suffer so my husband will out him to rest tonight. I can not do it. I'm too emotional about him. He was my first rooster and it is extremely difficult for me. Thank you Wayne&Kim1963 for all your kind words and help!

was the infection in the ear that's facing down, or the one facing up when he tilts his head? I hope he gets better.

It was in the ear that is facing down. His muscle must have re-trained themself to stay that way from sleeping so much with it like that when he had the infection. Another possibilty I believe it one of our free range roosters might have pecked him on the head when trying to fight him before I isolated him. I read that if they are pecked on the head it can cause neurological problems and make the neck go crooked.

Red Baron is now in a better place. He is no longer suffering.
