okay so my broody hen has been sitting in her eggs for this being her 6th day. My question is if I have to candle the eggs and if so, do I just have to turn the hen over and get the eggs one by one?

It depends upon the temperament of the hen. Some can be removed and placed in an adjacent nest while candling - others are more flighty. With these I gently reach beneath them and remove eggs one at a time to candle.

Do it at night, with a flashlight, if possible. Some broody hens are very cranky about any disturbance at all!
