I hatched this little one out this morning along with a few other Mottled Houdan Bantams. I bought a dozen eggs, received 19 and ended up with four mottleds and this one.

It has extra toes, cavernous nostrils, top knot...but brown with chipmunk patterning on it's back. It has a lighter underside, too.

I e-mailed the seller and asked if they've been penned separately forever....but so far, I've not heard back.

It is quite smaller (much smaller than the others) but seems vigorous. I'm hoping it survives so I can see how it matures.

Looks like a mix with a golden laced Polish maybe? I will be VERY interested to see what color it turns out to be. Toes look badly curled on the one side, better get some tape on those if they don't straighten out.

Doubt it - It still holds all the Houdan characteristics, and it is a chipmunk color. . . Really can't wait to see how it feathers out though!

Hmmmmmm.... Interesting!!! And CUTE!!! Don't think its a chocolate or dun tho, otherwise, it wouldn't have the chipmunk stripes. I think the stripes usually indicate a pattern gene, don't they?

Does the foot with the curled toes have 5 toes as well? Looks like way too much of a vaulted skull to be all houdan. Houdan don't have vaulted skulls like Polish and the chick in the picture.
