Oh, sorry...didn't look back to the first post. My australorp is about 2 weeks ahead of yours, but her comb and wattles are black, so it is impossible to see red at this time. But I can tell you my other chicks, whom I think are pullets, had started pinking up at the base of the comb by then. Here's a link to another thread and you can decide.

here are the new pictures. I added them to the first page but I will add them here also so you don't miss them. I am really getting scared that she is a he. (s)he is 6-7 weeks in these pictures. what do you think?

I am praying that it's a pullet. This is the most loving chick and I would cry so hard if she ends up being a he. This is my first set of chicks and until I got this group I had never been around a real live chicken let alone owned one. That is why I am clueless as to know for sure if this little one is a girl or boy.

judging by the waddles alone I would vote roo.

I would wait for other changes expected for roosters - hackles, saddle feathers, sickle feathers and crowing (not all that crows is a rooster) or if an egg pops out, you've got a hen. In the interim, if you really like this guy and don't want to eat him or someone else to eat him, spend the time finding a back up home for "him." There are some surprise chickens out there that don't seem to follow the rules (the late or early bloomers in the bunch). Send some updated photos in a few weeks and it should be easier to confirm by then. Usually by 10-12 weeks you know (although I still have a Wyandotte I'm on the fence about - she has a "back up home" just in case).
