Yes. The enclosure should also be well ventilated so it doesn’t get too humid.

That's good to know. Thank you! The top is hardware cloth (for the turtles safety) but I will drill some tiny holes throughout to ensure ventilation. I imagine I can find some wonderful housing ideas online, but for now, until I get a more permanent enclosure, I want to keep it safe and well. Thank you so much for helping me keep it that way. Thank you so much. From what I've read, it's not easy to determine sex and might be impossible until maturity, anywhere from 5 to 10 years. Is this accurate information?

Are you going to keep him(?) indoors or outdoors? Here is a picture of a indoor enclosure and an outdoor one. (Both pictures are from Google images.) I don't know how big you would want yours to be though.

When I searched outdoor I found lots of "cages" like the one above. ^ It looks very nice to me.....
