UPDATED Micro duck and hatchmates pics!!!!!

Have you ever figured out why she is bloating so tremendously after eating? I think you are probably not going to get any definitive answers until you have lab work and x-rays done, which will probably be a fortune unfortunately.

Hey! Well I know for one that she eats just like her sisters. She is such a little piggy. And you're right, the bill for just looking at her was $150.00. I can't imagine what it would be to xray, etc. Hubby says no for now since she seems to be chugging along. When I let them out of the tractor to play, swim she keeps up with the others, forages, swims and acts just like a healthy little duckling. She is keeping me a little worried but I thank God everyday I have her.

I have had three like Pippin this year. Their brothers and sisters were way bigger and more feathered than they were/are. One of them, I found dead in the duckie nursery yard. It was just laying there, not a mark on it. I had just been talking to it about a half an hour earlier. It happened the same way to a little one earlier. I currently have one that is about 4 week old and looks about the same size it did when it first popped out of the egg. I sure hope it lives. I hope your micro duckie makes it too. I really want to see how big they actually get. I wonder if they have a heart or digestive deformity or something that doesn't allow them to grow.

you tend to see runts more often in calls and other bantams. MY half-baked THEORY is they somehow get a second dose of the mutations that allowed bantams in the first. Sad to say they rarely live to become adults so love them while you have them.

OMG so cuuuttee!!!

maybe she'll stay like that for ever!!!!
Well... maybe not for ever... but cuuutteee!!!

I love that last picture. It's kind of sad though

Hey was this a help out! I've run across that before after helping a duckling out of its egg jail.
Keep us posted...survival this long looks pretty promising...Good luck!

I had a lady give me a 6 week old chick that looked like a 1 week old.. She had raised it in her house , it slept in her shirt at night and ran around the kitchen all day..,. It was super teeny after a few weeks it caught up and is now bigger then the other teens... Maybe she is justa late bloomer... Good Luck
