This is a pic of Pippin at 8 weeks. Her sisters have all grown up (calls), fully feathered out and normal size. Pippin still has all her down, and is the size of a week old duckling. She eats (like a pig), drinks, poops, plays, runs, etc. all normally. She's hanging in there.

You can tell how tiny she is by looking at the size of the peas!

Glad she appears to be otherwise healthy. I wish I know what caused that. Can ducks get primordial dwarfism??

Wow, I was thinking it was a week old duckling! 8 weeks?? My Mallard duckling is bigger and its 3 days short of 1 month old. You have to keep us updated on this little ducky! We always say our ducks grow up too fast...well not this precious little peanut!

Can you post a picture of its brothers and sisters it hatched with?

My one gray call duckling is only a couple days younger than the other one I have and she is absolutely tiny! She looks a lot like yours. They're like 2-3 weeks old and she is just a peanut. The other one is 3xs as big.

The same thing happened with my Cayuga duckling. I got 2 Cayugas and 1 grew up normally and the other one stayed the size of a 1 week old. He lived until about 7 weeks of age and past away.....

We were thinking he had a problem on the inside not out. Hope he lives long!

I took her to the vet right when I realized she wasn't growing. She could not find anything wrong upon examination. She said without blood work we may never know and may not find out even with it. I couldn't bare the thought of sticking a needle in this tiny little duckling so we ultimately decided that we would play the wait and see game. So far so good.....
