Well, they did just cross the country to get here, so their eyes were popping out of their heads at this point

They really are very cute, and I can't wait to get better pics during the day. According to Holderreads, they are show quality, but I'm not into showing, so

I just wanted they grays, and this is what they had

I'll be selling eggs spring/summer hopefully

I don't think I could bring myself to eat these eggs, and I can't hatch every single one I collect... That would leave my eyes popping out of my head

They are SOOOOO cute! My daughter will be getting some silkie ducks in her order in the spring. We are soo excited for them! How is their temperment? I just bought adult calls in early December from Holderreads and they are extremely shy. The female bites my hands really hard when I hold her. Not just bites, but grabs skin and twists it back and forth until she feels she's had enough!. I think its her way of saying thanks for pulling me out of my nice big preserve with ponds and stuffing me into a QT cage in your basement!

They are scared out of their minds right now, but we just picked them up, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt right now

I know they aren't going to be super loving since they are already grown, but, they didn't seem to be aggressive. I held them, and they put their heads on my shoulder

The hen saw my earring and nibbled at it, but that's normal. I got the pair because I didn't want to have to get the minimum number of ducklings, or else I would've gotten babies. I'll have my own hopefully sometime this summer

Their feathering is absolutely gorgeous!

You may want to look up hatching silky eggs as they are not easy to hatch. The best thing is to allow them to hatch out their own eggs. I don't know this from experience, only from what I have read. It seems as if the egg develops perfectly then everything goes to crap around hatch time.

I honestly haven't been able to find a whole lot on them. I like to allow my hens and ducks hatch out their own eggs if they feel like it, so that's fine with me

Figures they'd be more tricky... I also have seramas (which I personally have found more difficult to hatch) and tolbunt polish

I'll tell you what, when I jump in, I go head first

Aww!! Of course you can post pictures

They are beautiful! Have you tried hatching any eggs from them? Do you have any particular sites that are better than others for info on silkie ducks?

Don't worry, I've forgotten names too. It's annoying as anything, but after driving myself crazy over it for a while, I gave up and went with a different name - Made me feel better

After a while, everybody becomes one of the following anyway... Momma, Sweetie, Bud, or Big Boy

They know if I use their real name, they'd better listen

Earlier today for example... My appy gelding, Rio, was digging a hole to china because he wanted to come out of the pasture. Normally I call him Bud, but today I yelled across the driveway "YO RIO!! Stop diggin' to China!!!" As soon as he heard his name, the head popped up, ears forward, pawing ceased
