My little Olivia I posted the pic of was broody last year. A perfect little mama she was, too. Her two sisters have never gone broody, though.

Of my three sisters who look like your Charlotte, Kate is the largest, actually a good sized girl. Olivia is a bit smaller and Tux is the smallest girl and lays the smallest eggs. Kate's eggs are extra large. Their sire was half standard Cochin and quite large and Tux must take after the silkie side of her dad. She has one feather stub on one foot and the others have none at all.

Charlotte lays tiny little eggs and has such tiny babies we lose them in shavings and in grass!

Well, your Charlotte is a cutie pie. I wouldn't take $1000 for any one of the three I have. They are full of personality and the sweetest ladies. I have a Charlotte, but she's my Blue Ameraucana. Like the name!

I have a Tux, but he's a roo that is so black he's purple, has a funky hopping walk because he was hatched spraddle legged and his toes were curled under. His toes straightened out and his legs came in but I guess his hips were damaged and he runs like the caretaker on Harry Potter with the cat?

Okay, I know she's dust-bathing and not at her best, but doesn't Mystery look a little bit like your Charlotte? She lays itty bitty eggs the size of my d'Uccles (she just started laying last week).

They do have a strong resemblence! I caught her highness trying to take over the duck nest yesterday. One of Hershey's daughter laid her first egg and I caught Charlotte rolling it across the yard towards the coop.

How cute! Dedicated little mama you have there!!

I'd love it if Mystery went broody. She finally learned how to use the nest boxes this week.

I know Mystery is 1/2 Sillkie. Wish I knew what her other 1/2 was. When I saw the gold trim on Charlotte's feathers I was hopeful maybe I'd find an answer in Charlotte's threads. Guess that's a bust?
