Hi humm-n-cluck ranch!

To answer your question, my chicks will be in a brooder in my bathtub, inside! I'm just worried about the shipping weather...

The snow...is just different every year (30 years here)...no "normal". I'm sure it will warm soon, don't want to hurry because I don't want a drought.

Love your Llama info, I hope you can shear soon! I am a spinner!

I use to have Angora rabbits and spin their hair. My old hands are stiff and don't spin much any more. I had a contact in Lincoln, CA for Llama and Jacob sheep who taught me a lot about spinning. I have some glorious sweaters that I spun from Llama w/angora goat (mohair for others that don't know). Love your Llama rescue adventures!


Pictures and web site? Wanna see Llama puckering and loving! Tho I love your sweet son handling the chicks with so much affection and hope for more!

She really is his best girl lol, they are like 2 peas in a pod, he would take her everywhere if he could lol

Carpe DiHen - I will have to look on a map to see where your city is, CA is too big to know where everything is lol. I have a TON of family in the SF bay area but that is about it

My mom is a spinner too. I have to try to get an old washer off of craigs list to get the fiber cleaned this year, doing it in the bath tub a little at a time is killing my back

I will have to post a few pics of my llamas pre and post shearing! They look hillarious when they are first done because I have the guy do a full nudie on them, it is too hot here not to.

Dont worry too much about your chickies, Mine were packed like a dream! There were lovely little heat pads and thick woven straw all around them they were well insulated that is for sure

I am soo looking forward to everyones new chickies, looks like it should be a big week for MPC arrivals!

ANd I have to HIGHLY reccommend the big fish tank as brooder method. It allows us so much interaction with them at a safe from kids distance

I still love just sitting on the couch and watching them play with some scrambled egg or the occasional spider I can find around the house

I'm actually in Camino which is above Placerville in the foothills on the way to Tahoe. I'm only an hour away from Sacramento (but they probable flew into SF), so I thought if they made it there last night I had hope to get them today. I don't feel very remote, but two day it is! I wonder where they are right now

I am adding a 2nd brooder right next to the 1st because the gals are all getting too big to be in one, oh MAN do they grow fast!!!
