UPDATED PICS Swollen/Enlarged Eye in 2 Wk Old Chick

I have a 2 week old barnyard mix chick that has a swollen eye. I noticed one of its eyes looked odd a few days ago, but today it is much worse. It’s the eye itself. The membranes around the eye are not swollen and there is no discharge. It looks like what happens when glaucoma goes unchecked and pressure inside the eye builds causing the eye to enlarge/bulge. Only one eye is affected, the other eye is normal. The eye is not cloudy, it’s just much much larger than it should be. The chick seems to be ok otherwise, but is smaller than the rest. We will probably cull, but wanted to know if anyone has ever seen this? Sorry, no pictures at the moment.

There is a common birth defect where the eyes or just one eye is bulging. Sometimes the eye will deflate, and the chick may be blind. Pictures would be helpful.

Sorry, not the greatest pictures. The last picture is the normal eye. Pretty significant difference. Just hate this!

I haven’t seen anything in pictures of that before. Do you see any signs of a peck or trauma? Does the head feel like there is air under the skin around the eye?

No. There is nothing else noticeably wrong. He does shake his head every now and then like the eye is bothering him. And he is staying smaller than the rest of his hatch mates. He was cocking his head and looking at me out of the affected eye, so maybe he has some vision? There hasn’t been any trauma. It’s possible he could have gotten pecked, but I’ve had a few of those types of injuries and generally presents very differently. Very weird.
