Our coop was the first thing that my husband had ever built (well, that doesn't burn petrol). We did it together and it took us all summer. Every precious weekend in our short MN season. But it did get done. My chickens were 3 months old and still living in my office. Not a pretty sight.
We didn't know what we were doing. We took as many pictures off the BYC that we could - mostly framing photos, to see how everyone else was doing it. And used a shed building book when we got stumped. But it got done. And no one died or got divorced. Well, almost, but we don't talk about that one.
And now we can proudly tell everyone that WE BUILT IT.
Let me tell you, if we can do it, you can do it. Have faith and give yourself lots of pats on the back. It's always hardest the first time through. Measure measure (and maybe measure one last time) and then cut. And if you maybe know a friend (or a friend's husband or kid) that can come and do it with you, all the better. Good luck - you can do it.
