Sounds like you've got a bunch of hens then.

So can you please answer the big question, how much light do they get a day?

Quail are seasonal breeders just like most birds.... We trick them into thinking its season with 14 hrs of uninterupted full spectrum light per day. Also coturnix, as worldling so accurately and aptly puts it, are the lovers of perpetual sameness.... Meaning get them settled into a routine and dont change anything after that--- ever. If you do make changes they will make you pay for it... Example, change my pen? = BAD KEEPER, NO EGG FOR YOU! change my feed brands or formula? = BAD KEEPER, NO EGG FOR YOU! So, in retrospect, settle them and let them accept your routine and then leave it alone, lol. Once it works --- dont change it. Also give them supplimental light until the natural daylight hours are long enough to get the job done.

Sorry to say, it looks like only one of your browns is a hen.

Either Way The Tux Goes You Still Have A Critical Lack Of Hens.... Ideal Ratio On These Guys Is 1 Roo To Every 4 Or 5 Hens For Best Results. Less Hens Means The Few Girls You Have Are Going To Take A Beating By The Roos. More Hens May Make Your Fertility Drop...( I Know I Guy In Brooksville With A Gamebird Farm :d )
