In the Brooder

I have been using our spare bathtub as our brooder. The babies are about 3-4 weeks old now and flying around!
Yesterday I decided that they needed a little more space. Went to Walmart and bought a expandable baby gate to top the tub.

We are in the process of building their coop. I am guessing they will go out in the next 2 weeks pending weather.

Clever!
I'd start ramping down the heat...smaller wattage or dimmer extension cord.
They may not need it all anymore depending how warm your house is.

Very clever! When you said baby gate I thought you simply laid it on top, but this gives them some vertical space to use.

Really would consider moving the light up though, kinda scary having it in there with them. Since you have the shower head up above you can use that to raise the lamp, just take some wire and loop it through the hanging hoop on back of lamp, and run it over the shower head.

Thank you! I moved the baby gate up a little so that I could reach in and change food and water better. Placed baker's racks over the opening and moved the light up to the top of the baby gate.

It is still in the low 30's in the mornings here. We tend to keep the house on the cooler side. I raised the light higher tonight.
