upper respitory infection, help meds arent working

Oh my gosh 21 days? Wow! He is I guess the bird vet. The vet was a pet and bird vet and we had to wait to bring in my girls till he got there.

Can I cllect my eggs to hatch chicks? Or will al their isses be passed own to the egg? They are still taking tylan, but vet said they arenkt sick. So are my eggs safe to collect to hatch or?

That's why it would be good to get one tested or necropsied to find out what it is. MG/CRD can be passed through the hatching eggs. Coryza is not. But if the little ones are raised or anywhere near the big ones they can get it. If you cull your birds, and clean/disinfect everything, MG and coryza will die out after a few weeks and you can start over with healthy chicks or hens.

I cant cull, I cant handle it and I just bought a 250$ rooster. Should I just buy and use the other meds on them or do what the vet said? Even if they are better will the infection still go to the eggs? The babies will get no where near them.

Im going to give my bf 20 bucks and send him to tractor supply for di methox. Well ask him . Hopefully they will have it. I wannt my babies better

If the Tylan isn't working, get one of the other two meds--Di-Methox or Gallimycin. But please get one tested--I can't tell you whether you have MG or coryza. MG will transfer to the eggs. If you get tested, and it's not MG, you can hatch eggs without disease.

How do I get them tested without a dead bird? Mg will transfer even if not sick anymore? What exactly is mg?

Looks like everyone is doing a little better today, we blocked t y e side of the coop where the wind bnlows in and put flood lights in for warmth. One is still sneezy and the other one still a little gunky, but everyone else seems to be doing a little better. Could someone give me the information to the person I need to get ahold of in my area to get them tested? It's free. If you know what im talking about. I lost the contact information. Thank you

Do you think probiotics will help too? Maybe some electroytes as well?
