Hello everyone! I am currently studying cat breeds, as I am interested in adopting a half ragdoll half siamese kitten from a shelter. I know a lot about Ragdolls, but only from what I have read. Any experiences I would love to hear!

Thank You!!
Megan!

Well I have a part siamese part American shorthair, and though a bit dopey, loveable all the same. Sadly, I don't know that much about Ragdolls. Sorry.

Although ragdolls are suposed to have more silky fur that requires less grooming, that's not how it worked out with mine. He had more of the cottony coat, that mats. My understanding is that in some of the initial breedings, when the breed was being developed, that was from the Persians that were used. I think that was with an eye to a fuller coat, that would look good in the show ring. He lost a lot of fur on the furniture. As long as you are willing to groom your cat, no matter what type of coat it has, it shouldn't be a problem.

My ragdoll had a great personality and was very outgoing. He was more like a dog, than a cat. He was a great cat. Very loving and easy going, but playful, too. He was also gorgeous.

I also had a part Siamese cat. She was a wonderful cat and my all time favorite. Very loving, interactive and smart.

I think you could end up with a fantastic cat.

I have learned a lot about the ragdoll, thank you all so much. Funny story actually, when I went to the shelter to see if I wanted to adopt the cat, it turned out she was out for surgery and wouldn't be available to be seen for another week, so on the way back home my mom and I stopped at another shelter to check things out and there I fell in love with a beautiful little gray kitten. She is very talkative, super sweet and just lovely! Thank you all again or sharing with me!

My mom already has one cat, so as soon as she warms up a little more they will play along great, were almost there! Plus she is not afraid of the dogs and is trying to play with them as well, and then she has me! I don't think Dad would let me get a third cat, lol!
