UPS broke my Dickey Hatcher. Dial up warning FINAL UPDATE pg 11

to UPS! Hubby worked at the UPS last Xmas and he said they always drop kick boxes around and they dont care if it is labelled FRAGILE on the boxes. Its funny to them!

I do use UPS just for non fragile items like books and very heavy objects and I hope they busted their hernias over my boxes!

Filing a claim through paypal or ebay is not going to do anything in this case.

Glad paypal disagreed.

We had a similar situation with a half.com order. We bought a computer. The guy wrapped it in TOWELS! LOL

It wouldn't boot up and I noticed the seal was broken. I opened it up and it didn't have a hard drive!

We disputed it...it was a paypal transaction. The guy never responded and we got our money back. We even shipped it back to him at our expense. We heard from him about a week later. He had been on vacation. He flipped out. We told him the computer didn't work, we sent it back, so he should have nothing to complain about.

It was obvious he knew it was missing parts. We never heard from him again.​

Sharon, glad something good came out of it - sorry you had to endure such nastiness throughout this entire process.

Doesnt say much for the seller in not responding to the claim either, but then again...didnt really think they would.

Glad you got some recourse

, even if you are out shipping charges. Hope you can get your bator fixed.

Good idea, you got nothing to lose! A handy man can rig up something that can make it run new!

Thanks Henny. DH said he can get it fixed. The worst part is the loss of time I could have been using it. I would have had hatches by now.

The silly part is I asked the seller if she would be willing to just pay for having it fixed ( much cheaper than a full refund ). I'll certainly think twice before buying something this big again that doesn't come directly from the company.

Oh, it's a great thing for Sharon! It just shocked me b/c normally Pay Pal will not refund until you have sent it back so would be out shipping both ways. So the fact that she got to keep it and got the refund for the actual item is awesome for her, just surprised me!
