Upstate, NY chicken peeps!

Jefferson County here, outside Watertown. Just starting out with some ducks and chicks. Ducks I believe are khaki cambells, chicks are mostly EE, one white one was in the same bin but it looks just like the bantams they had, so we'll see, and one lone Australorp. :)

hi there! I live in west monroe ny about 30 minutes north near central square. I'm new to this chicken thing. Been at it since March 21.
I have buff orphington, 2 Wyandotte, I blk giant and 1. Blk austroloup. Sunday I acquired 4 silkies.
My husband thinks I'm a tad nuts, but it's ok by me. Love my girls!

Good mornin' my fellow upstate New Yorkers! I am very new to this Backyard Chickens community. It really seems great, lots of like minded people & a great source of information!
My love for raising chickens started a little over two years ago, when a very dear friend of mine built me a coop & gave me five Rhode Island Red pullets and a cockerel. I currently have a flock of six (two Rhode Island Red hens, two red sex-link pullets, one white silkie pullet, & one white silkie cockerel) & five more birds that are currently in the process of being integrated into my flock (two Cuckoo Maran pullets & three crested, cream Legbar pullets.)
I have just relocated to Olive, NY, & I have been unpacking & painting for three weeks now! I know I moved to the right place when I wake up to the sun rising over the mountains & the sound of my neighbors roosters crowing in the distance, in almost all directions!!!

Welcome! Sounds like you are off to a good start.

This thread isn't very active, but the "NY Chicken Lovers" thread is very active

Anyone know where I can purchase a few Juvenile chickens? I'm in Athens, NY. Looking for a 2 Easter Eggers and a Buff Orpington.

Thanks for any input you can send my way!
Regards,
Kris
