UPSTATE NY chickenstock OCT 3rd Sunday!! -The aftermath and hatching

we have a chick we have a chick!!!! its one of the OE's!!!! I wlaked in this am and saw no pips:-( just walked in and heard her crying lifted my hen and saw a wet newly hatched baby!!dont have the camera until DH gets back in a few hours--but yah 1 down 4 more to go! and my 1 white orp

YAY!!!!!!!

I just now got on the computer for the day. Computers crashed at work today, which is OH SO MUCH FUN at a 911 center, so I couldn't get on and then we went to the county fair as soon as I got home.




I can't wait to see HER! (Yes, I am optimistic! I am so hoping for at least one girl!) Can't wait to see pics! Nat, you are awesome!!!

Don't feel bad, I am the same way. If you are at my house, you follow my rules. If you don't, you will be punished the same as my children. If parents don't like this, then their children don't need to come here. We have railroad tracks about 50 feet from the house on one side and a creek about 50 yards on the other side. We have goats and electric fences, so kids can get hurt if they don't follow the rules.

Granted, my kid aren't perfect, but they behave when we go places and know that if we are at someone else's house, they follow their rules and those parents are free to punish as necessary.

I find comfort in chicken-like-minded people. I want to tell you, I am more receptive to complements from waitstaff when we go out to eat. As other kids shout, scream, cry, throw stuff...mine have always behaved well. I didn't realize how much so, until we were thanked for their behavior in several different restaurants in a short span of time. Here's the thing...yes I set parameters, yes I can tell them no, but I truly feel I was given "all I could handle" with my kids! Apparently I can't handle very much, because they are EASY to parent!

We all look forward to meeting you guys...and I completely plan on judging your kids when we do!!!

Oh, and I candled again and there's lots o baby fuzzy butts movin around in shells. I started with 52 and if they go like they are, 39 are going into lockdown
