Did I mention that in addition to your three and Gretchen's one, both the Ameraucanas I got from Karen were roos? What's up with that?

Didn't you see the Time article? Gretchen is a rooster raiser

That's right! All I raise is roosters ... haha Still trying to figure out how exactly that works. Jer, it must have SOMETHING to do with Diablo's issues, don't you think?

I have a gorgeous white silkie roo, just getting to breeding age. He is absolutely breathtaking, but has a comb that is a bit too red for showing. Nice boy, been handled daily. Would you be interested in him? He will be taking the trip to NY with me. I'm certain I will find him a home because he is sooooo beautiful!

I am also bringing many silkie chicks of various ages and colors to chickenstock. All from very good breeder lines, i.e. Bob (ultra1classic), Hattrick, Sassy Silkies and a lady from Calif. whose name/handle escapes me at the moment. Several pet quality, many breeder quality, and maybe a few show quality. Some are old enough to be sexed and others are a roll of the dice!

For anyone interested, I will also have chicks of various ages (some sexed, some straight run) in these breeds/colors:
mille fleur d'uccle
bantam Polish (gold-laced, buff-laced and wc birds in black, blue, splash, cuckoo, chocolate, khaki)
bantam modern game birds (blue silver, birchen, & splash)
standard blue laced red wyandottes
rosecombs (black breasted red and crele)
and the silkies, of course!

Yah PC will be trying to process them all

Ok so I'll need 1 silkie chick. Dont really care which color, although I am very fond of blue, lavender, and black. I'd like one to show so probably black right? Do the show birds have color disqualifications like wyandottes? anyway.... yah I need a silkie chick. Poor little yellow slept inside last night. She did really well though. So if I'm going to have a house bird she might as well not be lonely

Blue is an acceptable color, too. As is splash in silkies. Lavender isn't, so can be shown, but is not eligible for the larger wins.

for sure-Karen the Chickenstalker will be doing it this go round-she is in charge.

Karen -whats been rattlings around for ideas on this? I have a totally different idea compared to how we did it in PA so IM SURE it will be much better than then:)

I would love to hear your idea. I have a table and canopy that I was going to set up for it with a big Egg Auction sign above it.
BTW I will be taking preregistration for the auction in about a week or so. I wanted to wait closer to the date because I know as soon as I give it the go all the hens across NYS will cross thier legs in defiance.

well we put a chart out for each set of eggs for sale-no private slips in a bucket. List the starting price of the eggs and let people bid on them-writing their bids for everyone to see-so they can come back throughout the day and make sure they are still in the lead...or not and bid again:) I can make up the bidding paged at work as I did this for auctions for my DD's school:) I have alot of clip boards I can "borrow" from work to hold each page. whoever has the higest bid by closing wins:)

Gosh I hope I have another broody by then:-(

Now last time we split the profits with Steph and Jason-are we doing that again???

1/2 to the host 1/2 to the original egg donator? I Dont care really I just would like to know how we are dealing with that...It was kinda thrown in teh air last time and confused people and I just want to get it straight way ahead of time to explain it to people-what do you think? If we are doing it that way I can keep buying stuff for the party...hahaha
