UPSTATE NY chickenstock OCT 3rd Sunday!! -The aftermath and hatching

Quote:
We have hatchery girls that we are looking to part with that are already laying. Two light brahmas, 2 black Jersey giants, and maybe some EE's if they don't soon get their butts in gear and start laying.

We got 9 eggs today, have 6 dozen eggs in the fridge and can't sell them, so there is no need for us to have 14 layers.

I have Silver Ameraucanas that are 5 months (4 hens, 2 roos) breeder quality. Black Jersey Giants 6 months (1 roo/2 hens) hatchery and eggs I hatched...I get about 6-8 eggs a week from them. I have a hatchery Dominique that is 6 months, she lays 3-4 eggs a week. I am tossing around the idea of bringing my hatchery Australorps (2 hens/ 6 months old) we get 8 eggs a week from them. I'll bring my Buff Ameraucanas 5 months (2 roos/2 hens). I have a "muttraucana"/EE that is 5 months and laying 3 eggs a week.

I've been pushing myself to dwindle the flock. This is not easy!

Some old lady in an SUV decided to pull out in front of me. My bike and her SUV don't look so good. Luckily for me and my passenger the ground was there to catch us.

Hmmm, I'm kinda liking this idea, and suprised nobody has brought it up before now.

I second that. Cake was only invented to hold up frosting, IMO. No need to be fancy about it, either, a bucket and a small shovel works for me.

I'll make some buttercream and stick it in tupperware and hope it doesn't separate before we get there! Otherwise, I hope Nat has an electric beater.
