Man plans, God laughs. In May I went to Chickenstock having arranged to get 6 birds. I came home with 15. Six of which are roos which I can't have, and now have to re-home. I was also introduced to Faverolles there - thanks Gretchen, and added a new breed to my obsession list. I am now on the lookout for SQ LF. You just never know what's gonna happen. Bring extra cages - two of the littlest from May went home in a tissue box. See you there!

Well, as most know by now, I indulged a little too heavily in hatching and now have about 30 extra babies - 13 silkies and 17 mixed up everything chicks. At *least* half of those are going to be roos that I have to rehome so I can't bring home any more chickens no no no no. They'll have me on TLC on some hoarding show!

Now on the off chance I can rehome all these chicks before then........................................................... who knows?

LOL, don't think I haven't considered it. However, I think it would be hard on them - a two hour drive, a few hours there and a two hour drive home if no one wants them. I'm going to get a few pics of the silkies I'd like to rehome in about a week (to let them fuzz out more) to see if anyone would be interested. They'll be roughly six weeks old, which would be good enough to travel without heat.

Here's one of the 'born last night and today' babies! Awwww..
