Have had several PM's from people who might take my silkies (please don't make me drag the poor dears back home forlorn and unwanted!!) - now, as a relative newbie, what's the best way to transport 6 week old chicks? They won't need heat, so will a cat carrier with pine shavings and some apples do? it's at least a two hour drive, will they need water or will fruit and maybe wet chick feed suffice?

Btw, in that pic they are not in a cardboard box, they are in a huge 4 foot by 2 foot dog cage brooder, but the cardboard is there to protect them from sticking their heads between the bars and getting stuck

I may bring some of these also.. I am keeping my showgirl tho!
