Hello Everyone,
I found this site while doing research for my chickens. I love the site, resources and information so I figured I would join as a member.

I started with Chickens just about 1 year ago. In March 2017 I picked up some chicks for the family as pets and fell in love with them. We got 2 Buff Orpingtons and 2 Delawares.
Right now I have 2 Orp and 2 Delawares but just picked up three new ones today to add to my flock. My 4 are laying and doing well but I just picked up 3 14 week old pullets to add. I got 2 Easter Eggers and 1 Barred Rock.
I originally found Backyardchickens.com on Pintrest with some good posts.

My Other hobbies are Offroading, gardening, fishing, hunting, hiking, and everything outdoors.

I am a family man in my 30s with 2 handsome sons that are 7 and 2. We have a small adult dog, cat, puppy Chocolate Lab, and 7 chickens. Would love to get more livestock but need more land.

I would love to fully get "Off-Grid" and homestead but student loans might not allow that to happen. I love outdoors, providing for myself and family, and I love my country.

If you include your general location on your profile, this will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week articles which I have found to be a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group. One in particular which may be of interest to you presently is:
Topic of the Week - Adding New Chickens to the Flock

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
