Hello. Newbie to this forum and new to the chicken raising community.
My wife and I have decided to educate our daughter (3 yrs) and eventually our son (1yr) on where our food comes from. That said, we have created garden beds this year to grow vegetables and have recently ordered four large fowl hens. They are expected to arrive the first week in May. We have done extensive research on building a coop and will be starting that project next weekend. In due time, we're sure there will be a few questions needing to be answered and will be looking to all the kind folks here to lend a hand with our inexperienced ventures.
We look forward to sharing our experiences as a family with everyone here. We will be definitely gaining some valuable knowledge from all the experienced folks on this forum and can hopefully do the same later on with someone in our shoes.
