Greetings from Los Angeles,

As some of you might know, the city of Los Angeles is intersected by a large mountain range, the Santa Monica mountains. My partner and I live in the mountains and we are lucky enough to have a large homestead with several acres of wooded land. We had a beautiful and very tame india blue peacock for many years and lost him just recently.we have the perfect space for a new peacock ( I hope to find soon), and maybe a chicken or two to keep him company! I'm looking forward to learning some tips and tricks here to help me take excellent care of the new birds we will soon have.

Best wishes,

Victoria

Welcome to BYC, Victoria! Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry about the loss of your peacock and hope you can get a replacement soon. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Do you have a breed preference as far as getting some chickens goes?

I'm sorry you lost your peacock!

Hello and welcome from North OC! I learn a lot here and am sure you and your partner will too. You need more than just a couple of chickens! I started with 4, and recently just added 7 new babies. They are such a joy, and they pay their rent with eggs, control pests and fertilize my gardens. :)
