I'm so sorry for your loss. I get terribly attached to my chickies, and every one I've lost has been heartbreaking.

She was beautiful. My condolences,it is heartbreaking when our pets die. You did the best you could and probably not even a vet would have been able to save her. Give your little sister a hug and tell her that unfortunately sometimes this happens,while this will not make her/you feel better,we all know exactly how both of you are feeling right now. Bury her in a beautiful spot,for she is now your chicken angel and will watch over you and your sister for eternity.

Chickens are funny creatures they are a combination of very strong animals,but at the same time they have so many weaknesses which makes them fragile. They are prone to reproductive issues and there is really not much we can do for them regarding these issues.

So we do what we can,love them for however long they are in our care,and mourn them terribly when they are gone. They are little gifts from nature,not usually with us very long,but while they are here they bring so much joy to our lives. I call them temporary angels on earth.

Thank you Kizmette, Mia, Emily and Scott. It's hard but reading your words really calms me. I'm also thanking you in behalf of my little sister who was surprised when I told her that there are people far far away who care about you and your loss.
