I have a 3 day old developing egg with a dent in the shell. My incubator has post coming down from the top of it and I must have closed it on the egg!!! I candled and can't see light coming through the dent and there isn't any liquid, how can I seal the dent so no bacteria comes through? It is the size of a pepper seed. Wax? How do I do that?

I did that right after I posted. Do you think it will make it????
It has a pretty good chance of making it as long as you keep your hands clean before handling, and make sure your keep the incubator environment clean as well. This could prevent any bacteria entering the egg and causing the developing chick to quit. Try to handle the egg as little as possible, and try and stay hopeful! I have a batch of chicks hatching right now, and one of the eggs has a pretty decent sized crack in the shell that has been there since I put it in the incubator. Good luck and keep us posted! :fl :fl:jumpy
