If it's a simple break, it will heal on its own. The wound has to be treated though.

Did you inform the neighbor? They may be liable for paying for vet costs, I know they would if say if was their dog who attacked your dog, I'm unsure about it though since it's a duck. Id still let the neighbor know, their dog needs to stay off of your property entirely.

Sorry, not trying to scare you! Many vets do provide care credit though. You can ask. They'll let you pay in increments.

You haven't scared me I promise. I'm just frantic trying to figure out if he has an infection or not. If it's bad he's going to the vet regardless of price.

I had meant a simple break will heal untreated. Wounds and possible infection need treatment ASAP, of course.

I had a dog literally rip off the front part of one of my chickens wings. I cleaned, blukote'd it then wrapped and splinted it to her body and she lived without any significant deficits.

Do you have any advice for treatments?? I will be heading to get what I can ASAP
